It’s from an awesome CD called “A Very Scary Solstice,” put out by the H. P. Lovecraft Historical Society. When we used to sing these during “Cthulhu Night” at Hampshire College, we affectionately called them “Cthulhu carols.”
Correct with one nitpick: it’s rural New England that he’s traveling through, not rural England. Lovecraft’s stories are nearly all set in quaint, fictional, peaceful towns in Massachusetts.
Well basically the book is about a tourist travelling around the English countryside when he hears about Innsmouth, a town that is supposedly distraught since captain Obed Marsh made a “Deal with the Devil” at Devil’s Reef, and then when he goes to tour he finds the terrible truth of the town from Zadok the crazy drunk and when the fishmen and Deep Ones learn of his new knowledge they attempt to hunt him down
Here’s a little bit of info on Cthulhu Mythos, for those who don’t know.
Cthulhu is one of the Old ones, Gods long locked away. This particular old one is described as a titanic beast with tentacle mouths, wings, and green, (if I recall) scaly skin. He is locked away in R’lyeh. He has offspring, called Star Spawn or Cthulhi. Those are just about eight foot tall versions of Cthulhu.
And no, the monster from Cloverfield is NOT Cthulhu, or a star spawn, or any of those.
I thought it was an alien in “Cloverfield” but a Lovecraftian monster works as well. I think that the main enemy monster at the end of “Hellboy 1″ is based off of Lovecraft’s Old Ones. This song made me giggle, especially since I’ve read a lot of Lovecraft stories.
kinda scratchy at the end
has anyone made a one piece version of this?

He’s singular if I remember right. Ol’ Octopus head
Here’s a piece of info mate: The shadow over Innsmouth by H.P. Lovecraft. Read it.
Yeah, that’s why this song creeps me out, but looooooooove it! But can anybody tell me more about it’s background?

Cthulhu are “sea monsters”. If memory serves me correctly, one attacked New York in the movie “Cloverfield”.
This is one of the greatest songs in the world. owo
you’re correct! In fact, the fish-men in this song are obviously the Deep Ones.
You find the best and funniest song! Where do you find such songs?
You have a good voice lollish songs
